Stay in DLBK: Downtown Lubbock Hotels

Stay in DLBK: Downtown Lubbock Hotels

Spring means wedding season, graduation season, and the perfect warm weather to travel in!

When planning your trip to the Hub City, consider a stay in Downtown Lubbock. Aside from being some of the best lodgings in the city, the access to the history and culture of the heart of the city can’t be beat.

Don’t worry; you don’t have to scour Google trying to find the best options. We took care of that for you.

Cotton Court Hotel

Inspired by the cotton gins that freckle the South Plains, the Cotton Court Hotel is a local favorite in Downtown Lubbock! In addition to being in the heart and soul of the city, the hotel's location also offers convenient access to some of Lubbock's biggest attractions including Texas Tech University, the Cultural Arts District, the Depot Entertainment District, and Buddy Holly Hall. With 165 pet-friendly rooms and outdoor spaces, the Cotton Court Hotel isn't just a hotel where you spend the night. It's an experience that will keep you coming back time and time again.

The Cotton Court is also home to a fabulous Downtown bar and restaurant: Midnight Shift. The spot features a West Texas-themed drink menu with cocktails like the “Tumbleweed, “Haboob,” and “Guns Up Margarita.” Just outside the bar, you’ll find a gorgeous courtyard with picnic tables, lawn chairs, and yard games like Cornhole. You can also dine while you drink off of their menu of American cuisine with a Texas Twist.

Pioneer Pocket Hotel

Looking for a more historic, high-end hotel experience? Experience sky-high views and one-of-a-kind suites right in the heart of the Hub City in Downtown Lubbock’s very own Pioneer Pocket Hotel

As a historic building dating all the way back to the 1920s, you might be surprised to learn that this hotel has transformed into a fully-automated space, but with no front desk that means no interruptions by hotel staff. From booking to check-in, it is all done digitally through access codes on your mobile device. And although the building is a few decades old, the amenities are updated, chic, and easy to enjoy. However, our favorite additions to the Pioneer Pocket Hotel are The Brewery LBK and The West Table, found right downstairs in the lobby.

The Brewery's creative craft beers use local, seasonal ingredients to give you a beer unlike anything else. Relax in the lobby or on their covered patio while enjoying a beverage that's sure to keep you coming back!

You can also enjoy a fine-dining experience when you spend an evening at The West Table. The restaurant features a cozy, elevated ambiance and a delicious drink menu. When ordering food, you can choose from a menu of new American cuisine with global influences!

DoubleTree by Hilton

The DoubleTree by Hilton provides the availability and price of a large hotel chain but comes with a local twist making it a must-stay!

The lodging option provides a number of room options, including adjoining rooms for big families, plenty of parking, an indoor pool, room service, and a fitness center. This hotel is also the closest Downtown option to the Texas Tech University campus.

The local twist we mentioned at the DoubleTree is the Claraboya Scratch Kitchen + Bar. The restaurant, located in the building’s lobby, provides farm-to-fork savory dishes by Lubbock local Executive Chef Antonio Pina. The menu features bold, innovative cuisine and unique cocktail options. Plus, you can enjoy locally produced beer and wine!

The Mayo (Coming Soon)

We’ve mentioned another hotel in a historic building… so how about a jailhouse?

The Mayo Lubbock is taking a piece of history and turning it into something new. The jailhouse turned hotel, originally constructed in 1931, will feature a bar, coffee shop, and retail spaces.

As with any historic building, renovations come with guidelines. For The Mayo, the cell blocks on the top floor must remain. The Snyder Brothers, the duo heading the project, have a plan for that. The barred doors will be turned into Airbnb spaces with kitchens–available for reservations as well!

Although there’s not a specific date for a grand opening, you can subscribe to the Downtown Lubbock newsletter or stay up-to-date and be the first to know!
