Summer in Texas is finally back! And what goes better with sun and blue skies than a few drinks on a patio? Luckily, it feels like there’s a place to do that on every corner in Downtown Lubbock. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite spots and why they’re a must-add to your Summer bucket list. Drink, enjoy, and be merry!

The Full Experience

When we say full experience, we mean most of their space is a patio setting. These two venues are the perfect spot for sunny day drinking or a warm summer night out.  

Two Docs Brewing Company

This is your stop for locallyl brewed craft beer. Enjoy one of a kind hops inside their eclectic brewery or in their patio area equipped with picnic tables, games, and food trucks. And if you keep an eye out on their social media, you can commonly find Two Docs hosting fun community events or great live music.

The Garden

The Garden was made for summer. Outdoor-only seating, a full bar, and a stacked live music schedule guarantee a good time. Food trucks line up outside their entrance, so you can eat while you drink. The Garden also hosts events like crawfish boils and holiday parties. Keep an eye out on their Facebook for events you don’t want to miss!

Wine & Dine

If wine is more your taste, these locally owned wineries are a must-visit! Enjoy a glass of vino in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. 

McPherson Cellars

McPherson Cellars specializes in Summer. This spot hosts a special “Patio Night” series every Thursday during the warm months featuring live music, local vendors, and food trucks! And if weekends work better for you, their patio is open to enjoy a glass of their local wine or stop inside for a tasting and tour!

Burklee Hill Vineyards

If you’re looking for a summer brunch spot, Burklee Hill could be your stop. Along with award-winning local wine, their bistro serves up delicious bites for brunch and dinner on the weekends. From hand-tossed pizza and charcuterie boards, to delicious desserts, you can drink and eat your days away, all while enjoying local live music. Follow their Facebook page to stay up-to-date on the bands and artists getting booked at their venue.

Upscale Outing 

If you’re searching for a more upscale experience, look no further! This downtown gem is perfect for those with champagne taste. 

Midnight Shift

Midnight Shift is the hotel bar Lubbock had been waiting for. Located in the Cotton Court Hotel, the spot features a West Texas-themed drink menu with cocktails like the “Tumbleweed, “Haboob,” and “Guns Up Margarita.” Just outside the bar, you’ll find a gorgeous courtyard with picnic tables, lawn chairs, and yard games like Cornhole. You can also dine while you drink off of their menu of American cuisine with a Texas Twist. Visit their Facebook if you want to stop by for one of their live music nights!
