Lubbock has grown rapidly over the decades. Not just in square miles–but culturally and experientially. A collective of people who are passionate about the arts and that West Texans experience them have worked hard, for years, to create an immersive experience in the Downtown Lubbock Cultural Arts District, so Lubbock can offer that to its community. Let’s not let it go to waste. Enjoy some of the best Lubbock has to offer at these breath-taking galleries filled with art created by incredibly talented creators.
LHUCA

LHUCA, or the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, features four art galleries that span over 5,000 square feet. Those four galleries are home to pieces created by local, national, and international artists. LHUCA says their goal is to “bring insightful, thought provoking exhibitions that will deepen your understanding, appreciation, and connection with the arts.” That’s why their galleries are open to all ages and admission is always free. Most of the art you’ll see is for sale, too. You can visit to view their current galleries Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am-5pm.

CASP/Charles Adams Gallery

The Charles Adams Studio Project, or CASP, has been making meaningful change in the Lubbock Cultural Arts District for 40 years. CASP is a non-profit organization founded by Charles Adams. CASP provides artists with studio space, specialized equipment, and exhibition opportunities, while providing the public with workshops, demonstrations, lectures, tours, weekly studio classes, and First Friday Art Trail events. When you visit the Charles Adams Gallery, you will experience pieces created by regional artists, while supporting a crucial art collective of the South Plains. GlassyAlley Art

GlassyAlley Art is bringing the luck of the Irish to West Texas. Pauline, the owner, came to America in 1986. Just a little over 20 years later, she purchased a couple of warehouses in Downtown Lubbock and started GlassyAlley, a mosaic studio and gallery. Since 2009, Pauline has offered a number of classes including mosaics, carved concrete, welding, and sculpture while opening a gallery to the public. She also offers mosaic kits you can do from home! Stop by from 10 am-2pm Monday through Saturday to experience art in so many forms!
