Tim Treymani (tray-mah-nee) is one of the partners behind this unique concept. 

Knowing Tim is knowing Shotgun Sue’s; he's a guy who believes in simplicity and authenticity over titles. "Just say my name, honestly," he insists, keeping it real and relatable. But meeting Tim and experiencing his natural talent for creative cocktail mastery isn’t quite the whole story. 

Born and raised in Lubbock and eventually finding his way back home, his story speaks volumes about his resilience and passion. The journey serves to bolster his capabilities–to craft a legacy that blends his experiences and dreams into a place that resonates with his down-to-earth ethos.

Why Downtown Lubbock? It's All in the Vibe

Tim and his business partners dream big for Downtown Lubbock, envisioning it as a bustling hub akin to a miniature Nashville. 

"A couple of blocks of restaurants and bars with shops thrown in...more of a walk around district would be really freaking cool," he shares with unmistakable enthusiasm. 

This vision isn't just about business; it's about creating a cultural heartbeat for Lubbock–a place where families and young adults can find their niche. 

"And that's one good thing about Lubbock," says Tim, "places that take care of people and have good service and are friendly seem to last. Lubbock's very loyal people are very loyal to working hard. It's what's in our blood."

Tim doesn’t hold back when sharing his vision for a downtown that's not just a place to visit but a destination to experience, a place that evolves from day to night, catering to a diverse crowd.

That said, Shotgun Sue's is a true reflection of its environment–rugged, raw, and real. "The space told us what we needed to do," according to Tim, noting how the bar's design organically shaped its identity. The way Tim talks about the space, you can’t help but liken it to being a love letter to the West Texas spirit, where the essence of country music and local culture is distilled into every drink. This isn't just a bar; it's a tribute to the heart and soul of Downtown Lubbock–a place where stories are told and memories are made, one sip at a time.

With a crystal clear vision extending beyond the Shotgun Sue’s establishment, Tim dreams of a downtown that's alive with energy, where every corner tells a story, and every business adds a verse to the song of Lubbock.

The Elixir Lounge: A Secret Within a Secret

Towards the back of Shotgun Sue’s, you’ll find a door clearly marked “employees only.” Hint: you’ll want to find yourself behind the mysterious door. 

That space nestled within Shotgun Sue's is Downtown Lubbock’s answer to the tired and cliché speakeasy concept. 

"I do not like that word," Tim asserts, challenging the norms of the cocktail world. “It’s going to be a lounge.”

However, as the conversation continues to unfold, the excitement for this lounge becomes palpable, and we get a name. 

“I’m just going to call it The Elixir Lounge,” says Tim. 

The smaller, more intimate space will most likely require a reservation, but the Elixir Lounge is not about keeping people out. Instead, it’s about inviting the community into a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience where unwinding, laughing, and storytelling with friends and strangers alike is the norm. 

Promising to celebrate sophistication and top-tier mixology, The Elixir Lounge is not just a bar within a bar–it’s a haven for those seeking more, something unique, something distinct, and dare we say…something completely unexpected.
