Enjoy Memorial Weekend in Downtown Lubbock!
This Memorial Day, there’s no shortage of activities and events going on throughout Downtown Lubbock.
Consider these exciting options to experience with your friends and family, instead of the usual backyard cookout.
The fun starts on Thursday evening at McPherson Cellars Patio Night. On May 23rd, Whistlin’ Dixie BBQ and Craig Elliott will be there to give you an evening to remember.
Enjoy wine pairings, delicious food, and live music as you sit in the cool night air.
If you’re looking for something to do with the whole family, check out the Summer Showcase at the Buddy Holly Center Meadows Courtyard from 5:30 to 7:30.
There will be music, food trucks, and activities for kids too!
Unwind from the week on Friday with Alissa Gilvin at Triple J’s from 6:30 to 9:30. Triple J’s is always the best place to go on Friday evenings when you want to relax with good music, comfort food, and craft beer.
Sleep in on Saturday morning and then head over to The Life and Art of Nancy Holt exhibit at LHUCA. This exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. but will be a big hit, so get there early to make sure you get to see this inspiring display.
Then take your pick of live entertainment in the evening. No matter what kind of music you like, you’ll be able to find something you enjoy on Saturday evening.
The Maines Brothers Band will be in Lubbock for a one-night-only performance at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. The show starts at 7:30 and will be one that you won't want to miss.
If the Maines Brothers Band isn’t what you’re looking for, Lone Star Skynyrd will be at the Cactus Theater.
Enjoy the best Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band you’ve ever heard in the middle of the historic Depot District.
Or if you're looking for the perfect blend of Country and Americana Folk music, Tylor and the Train Robbers is the band to see at the Blue Light, starting at 9.
No matter how you decide to take advantage of your long weekend, always be mindful of why we celebrate Memorial Day.
Remember those who have given their lives in service to their country and have made the ultimate sacrifice.
